Yes — the 7-day free trial requires signing in with your Google (Gmail) account. This lets us track your trial period without asking for a credit card. After 7 days, a Pro subscription keeps your access active. Your Google account is only used for identity — we never access your emails or store your voice data.
When your 7-day trial ends, you'll need to upgrade to Pro ($9.99/month) to continue using Speeko. There are no partial features on an expired trial — it's the full experience during the trial, then Pro or nothing. Upgrading takes about 30 seconds with a license key.
Speeko runs on Windows 10 (version 1903 and later) and Windows 11. It does not currently support macOS or Linux, though those versions are on the roadmap.
No. Audio is sent over an encrypted connection to our transcription model and immediately discarded after processing — we do not store, log, or analyse your audio or transcription content. Your Google account sign-in is used only to verify your trial or Pro status.
Yes — Speeko works in any application that accepts keyboard input. This includes browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox), email clients, IDEs (VS Code, JetBrains), Microsoft Office, Notion, Slack, Discord, terminals, and more. If you can place a text cursor there, Speeko can paste into it.
Speeko uses OpenAI Whisper, one of the most accurate speech recognition models available. In standard conditions (clear voice, no heavy background noise) you can expect 97–99% word accuracy in English. Accuracy may vary in noisy environments or with very strong accents.
Translation supports 12 target languages: English, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Italian, and Russian. Set your recognition language to Auto and Speeko will detect whatever language you speak, then translate the output into your chosen target language — great for multilingual users.
The installer is approximately 79 MB. Speeko is built with Electron, which bundles its own rendering engine so it works reliably across all Windows configurations without any additional dependencies. All transcription and AI processing happens in the cloud — there are no separate model files to download after installation. You'll need an active internet connection to use Speeko.
